Mark your calendar for November 15. Strut Your Mutt at MARL's Fall Festival & Fashion Show is going to be a day of fun and festivities for everyone. We will start off with our Fall Fashion Show. Four legged child of Barbara Barton, Bonnie is modeling her latest fall fashion. By the way Bonnie is a true model, as she models on eBay for Fur Baby Fashions Dog Apparel.

We want to see all the dogs in the latest apparel. It doesn't have to be a real dress, anything that represents fall (leaves, pumpkin, etc.) will be fine. Of course we have prizes for the best dressed. Don't forget our Owner/dog Look-A-Like contest, prizes for that also. Middle Earth Agility will give a demonstration and then allow you to try your skills with your dog. And we also have a Rally, run by one of our staff, Mary Crosby.

It's going to be a day of fun, so please plan to be there. We will have face painting and pumpkin painting, space jump and an obstacle course. Admission is $10.00 for adults and children 7 - 16 $5.00, under 6 get in free. If you did not get a brochure in the mail, please check out the web site at www.msarl.org for more information.

Remember, this is a fund raiser for the animals at MARL, so please ask your friends, neighbors, family and co-workers to pledge donations to help the homeless animals. Prize for the Most Money brought in and we will be raffling off a $300 bike

The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter⁺ Challenge
Please everyone, don't forget to go to www.theanimalrescuesite.com everyday and vote for the Mississippi Animal Rescue League. We are still number one in our state and that would mean that we would get $1,000.00. When you go to the site look on the side for shelter challenge and that will take you to the voting area. Please make yourself a note to vote everyday.

Right now Animal Rescue Fund is 2nd and CARA is 3rd. We want to stay #1. We need that money for the animals.

Volunteer Meeting
We are having a volunteer meeting Thursday, November 6 at 5:45 p.m. here at the shelter. If you are interested in helping with Strut Your Mutt, please come. We really need volunteers. RSVP me at aileenem@netdoor.com

Needed are:
• NO FOOD AT THIS TIME, WE ARE PACKED
• Heavy duty gas powered commercial weed eater
• Laundry detergent
• Anti-bacterial hand soap
• Distilled water (gallon size)
• Financial assistance for vaccines, medical supplies, etc.
• Adams Flea Shampoo
• Fire ant poison
• Toilet tissue
• Copy paper
• Ink cartridge: # HP 74 & HP 75 (This machine doesn't print with ink, I think it eats it)

Our greatest need as always is financial, it is your donations that make such a difference in the lives of so many animals. Our veterinarian, Dr. Mary Fooshee stays busy all day and sometimes into the night checking and treating the animals in the shelter. Now that we have her, we have more healthy animals going up for adoption, and our adoption numbers have nearly tripled since this time last year.
