Want some more excitement? Don't forget Burgers and Brew April 20th at 7:00 p.m. at Center Court in Highland Village. This fun filled evening is in memory of Jeffery Fowler Hudson and will benefit MARL. Entertainment is by the Blackslash Band and tickets are $40 per person or $75 a couple. This would be the perfect place to insert a picture of the new shelter. Not going to do it - you will have to wait. I will tell you this ---- IT IS BEAUTIFUL ! Vibrant colors! Light and Cheerful! Spacious! You will be so proud, and I can assure you, we couldn't have done it without your help. You have no idea how appreciative we are. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The workmen are putting on the finishing touches and checking to see that everything works correctly. One of our local landscape architects has donated her time and knowledge to do the landscaping for the new shelter. We spoke with Hutto's Yard and Garden and they agreed to give us a tremendous discount on supplies. They really want to help.

We will have to have between 8 - 12 yards of top soil, and lots and lots of St. Augustine sod, and of course plants and trees. If you would like to help with this expense contact Billy Hutto at 601-948-1991 and he will help you purchase a gift certificate for us. Hutto's is located on Ellis Avenue, one block north of Hwy.80.

We want to give special thanks to Lamar Advertising for our free space on their new digital bill boards. Check them out. One is on High Street at Jefferson and the big one is on I-20 East at Bass Pro Shop in Pearl. In addition, we have 20 bill boards all over Jackson promoting our Low Cost Spay.Neuter program. The boards are free, we only pay for the paper. Thank you Lamar.

Meet the newest member of the MARL staff. This is Fred, a bloodhound x redbone hound cross. This is one of his more exciting moments. He is a real "go getter."

Special needs at the shelter right now is dry Purina Dog Chow and Puppy Chow as well as Pedigree only. Financial help is always needed. Our moving expenses are going to be outrageous.
