Welcome to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, Gertrude C. Ford Animal Welfare Center

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League is celebrating 40 years of service, care, and compassion for all animals. We are an open door shelter, which means we never turn an animal away. We accept all animals, dogs, cats, horses, goats, donkeys, snakes and even have had monkeys and a tiger at the shelter.

We are a 501-C-3 non-profit organization, which means we operate on donations. We do not receive any federal, state or city funds. With a budget of over $800,000 we need your support in order to care for all our animals.

We take in over 15,000 animals a year and have received as many as 125 in a day. Below are videos of some of the work we do. We hope after watching the videos you will want to help us help the animals with a donation.

Donations can be given by clicking on the Guidestar button or sent directly to: Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 5221 Greenway Drive Ext., Jackson, MS 39204

On behalf of the animals we thank you and hope you will take some time to come and visit the shelter.
