Welcome to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, Gertrude C. Ford Animal Welfare Center

Where "Little things" mean a lot.

About Us

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization that for over 37 years has dedicated itself to the prevention of cruelty to animals. MARL is supported solely by donations and receive no city, state or federal funds.

We are an open door shelter, which means that we welcome every animal that looks to us for sanctuary and shelter. In 2006, we received 17,000 animals! At a cost of over $550,000 that will jump to over $800,000 in 2007. Although with all the dogs and cats we receive, we have also taken in horses, cougars, a tiger, apes, monkeys, goats, snakes and birds.

During the past 37 years, we have become the place where animals can find safe shelter, medical treatment and abundant loving care. We have become the place where pets can find homes, and families can welcome new loved ones. MARL speaks for those that have no voice.

Won't you open your heart and help the animals? They are counting on you. Each donation helps us save lives. Please send your donations to: MARL, 5221 Greenway Drive Jackson, MS 39204 or click the GuideStar button above.
